It was finally time to leave the southwestern deserts behind (at least for a while) and start our new jobs in Nebraska. We took a little detour on the move from Scottsdale to Omaha in the Spring of 2000 that brought us to Las Vegas, Nevada. This city is truly one of the greatest creations in America, if not the whole world - one big show! It also offers unique opportunities to enrich one's life, and one of those you can see documented below...

A Little White Wedding Chapel...

located on South Las Vegas Boulevard was the site for the beginning of a new adventure for Claudia and myself. After getting our marriage license from the Clark County Courthouse - by the way, an experience onto itself, we recommend it if only for the people-watching - we found the perfect place to exchange our vows:
a Drive-Thru Wedding Chapel!

The only drawback was that they didn't have a fake Elvis for the ceremony. Oh well, the tragedies of life! As we drove into the "Tunnel of Love", we both thought that we haven't had so much fun in ages!

Keep the motor running...

Is this a great country or what! Getting married in a Drive-thru Wedding Chapel - never turned the engine off, and only had the music down a bit so we could actually hear the Reverend! As I now understand, most people actually leave their cars and enter the chapel, but then, what's the point of going to a Drive-Thru??

Here you can see our wedding picture, the Polaroid gratuitously included in the service fee! We're in Claudia's little Miata, which we deemed more appropriate for this occasion than the truck: style over ruggedness, much better sound system, and low enough!

After the "ceremony", we went to the Stratosphere for the phantastic view and a great glass of Champagne, and later truly enjoyed our Suite at the Bellagio! No regrets whatsoever, never looked back... it just took some explaining for the families in the old country!
